Indie Hackers, Solopreneurs & Bootstrappers face unique challenges building product
One day you’re the hero, your product’s the hit, then—bam! The next day, you learn your biggest fan isn’t your target audience. Cue the solo facepalm. 🤦♂️ It’s all in a day’s work when you’re the whole team and the feedback loop.
The internet is full of scattered advice from “Big Tech,” but they're don't fit quite right for Indie Builders. Guides on "How to Manage Your Product Career" are helpful for PMs in "Big Tech"... but not so helpful for Indie Hackers who just want to ship awesome products.
Wearing every hat isn’t just a metaphor for Solopreneurs - it’s a daily reality! Building product is a full-time job, but you also have to cover marketing, sales, bookkeeping, and throwing out the trash... there isn't enough time in the day!
"Big Tech" companies can afford to hire full-time Product people who figure this stuff out. 📈
I shipped products at tech companies of all sizes, from 10-person seed-staged startups up to 15,000-person global companies. One was acquired by Facebook! 🥳
Now, I'm a Product Discovery Coach in Seoul, Korea. I'm also an Indie Hacker building AI tools to help with Product Discovery (coming soon 😉).
I've worked with "Big Tech" to build great products.
But now I want to help the Indie Hacker Community build more awesome products.
As an Indie Hacker, Solopreneur, or Bootstrapper, it's difficult to get access to "Big Tech" best practices.
Until now.
I'll share everything I learned over a decade of working in "Big Tech" product to help you build amazing products.
Clearly define your target audience, and discover deep insights into their hopes and challenges.
Test your hypotheses by "getting out of the building" and learning from customers with a sense of genuine curiosity.
Learn as quickly as possible by hypothesizing, testing, reflecting & learning, iterating, and repeating.
There's a lot of tools to cover, but you can go at your own pace with our digital course.
Learn the basics of product management - how to build the right product (product discovery) and buid the product right (product delivery).
Create clear, specific goals that guide your product. The real value lies less in the goal itself but more with the process of defining the goal.
Learn the importance of defining the ideal customer profile & persona that will guide you in the process of building your product.
Learn the role that customer interviews have in product discovery, and how to do it in a way to minimize bias and maximize quality.
Create a map that connects your goal to the customers' problems, helping you organize your hypotheses and findings to improve learning velocity.
Learn concepts ranging from Self 1 / 2 (Inner Game) to prioritizing the ONE thing to Daily Standups, Weekly Meetings, and Retrospectives
As a developer, I'm at home with code, but product strategy has always been difficult.
Then I started talking to Sam. His clear insights and simple explanations have given me lots of "Wow" moments, and changed how I look at product.
If our talks are any indication, his course is going to open up a whole new world of understanding for me and for other builders. I'm really looking forward to his upcoming course!
It's easy - there's only 2 options. 😃
